The Rotate options allow you to rotate selected points about a defined origin through a given angle. When selected, the pop-up menu below will be displayed.
All the Rotate options obey the current pick mode. Therefore, depending on the pick mode setting, you will be asked to either indicate a point to rotate, sketch a rectangle containing the points to rotate or confirm that the rotation of the currently selected points is to be carried out. This happens after the steps outlined below for each rotation option which define the centre or rotation and angle.
The Typed Angle option allows you to rotate points through a known angle. You will be asked to indicate a centre of rotation and then to enter the rotation angle. The angle should be entered in the units set in the current settings.
The Point to Horizontal option allows you to rotate points through an angle defined by the centre of rotation and a second point. You will be asked to indicate the centre of rotation followed by the second point. The polar angle between the two points is then calculated and used for rotation.
The Point to Line option allows you to rotate points through an angle defined by the centre of rotation and two further points. You will be asked to indicate the centre of rotation followed by these two points. The angle of rotation is calculated as the difference between the polar angles from the centre of rotation to the other points.
