The Angle Set option allows you to change the angle of annotation by specifying an angle. This is the polar angle where zero is the positive x-axis and anti-clockwise is positive. You will be asked to enter the required angle and the selected text will be rotated to comply. This option obeys the current pick mode and you should enter the angle in the current angle units.
The Angle Slide Rotate option is a combination of a move together with a graphically indicated angle. After indicating the point for the annotation, you will be asked to indicate a new position. You will then be asked to indicate the angle to which the annotation should be rotated.

The Align Indicate option (Angle Align in Lite) allows you to set the angle of an item of annotation by graphical indication. This angle is the angle about the annotation’s point rather than the justification position of the text displayed. The offsets from the point to the annotation are rotated so that the lie along and perpendicular to the new alignment direction, as shown below.

The Align Itself option allows you to align annotation text onto the line feature string that its point belongs to. You will be asked to indicate the line feature and the annotation will be aligned. It is like the option above in that the offsets of the annotation are maintained but rotated.
The Align to Reference option allows you to align annotation text to a given reference feature. This is often necessary for surveys of roads or railways where you require that all annotation follows the direction of features. This option ignores the setting of the current pick mode but is only available when there are points on the select list. You will be asked to indicate the reference line feature. Each selected point is projected onto the indicated feature, an angle calculated and the associated annotation rotated to suit.
