As part of the 4.40d release, a few new functions have been added and one of them is Project. It can be found in the CAD space under the Lines tab and Gap function:
The Project function was created to allow you to gap a section on a line feature and project the extrusion onto/into another line feature. The line features can be joined by lines from the gaps or left empty.
This function helps when joining or integrating walls or building structures into each other.
A short video of how the function works can be seen below:
When using the Project function, you will see the Close Across checkbox in the option box that appears when you have projected the line onto another. When selected, it will create the indicated gap on the original line and mirror the gap onto the adjacent line feature without joining them with two new lines.
As you can see in the video above, the Rounding tool can also be used with the Project function, once again, to ensure consistency when creating CAD drawings. Note the difference in the dimensions values when using the Rounding tool with 5mm selected.
