The Points tab opens up numerous functions you can use to view and modify your CAD drawing as explained below:
Create
- Sketch: Allows the user to create construction points at chosen locations.
- Tied Distances: The user selects two points and chooses which side to generate a new point at the intersection of the two radials by inserting values in the dialog box: (Radial circles created to represent the defined distances when creating points)
Along
- Line: This function creates a point at a given distance along a line. The point will be generated at the assigned distance from the end of the line originally selected.
- Arc/Circle: This enables the user to create a point at a given distance along an arc.
Divide
- 2 Points: Creates points on a line between two indicated points which in turn, will represent new intervals along the line feature.
- Line: Adds a chosen amount intervals along a line feature by creating new points.
- Arc/Circle: Creates a user-defined amount of intervals along an arc/circle feature. This is done by adding points along the arc/circle.
Project
- 2 Points: Users can project points onto a line between two selected points.
- Line: Projects points on a line feature as specified by the user.
- Arc/Circle: Creates a set amount of points along an Arc or Circle as defined by the user.
Intersect
- Lines: Allows users to select two individual lines and create a point where they intersect.
- Line/Arc: Will create a point where a selected Line and Arc intersect.
- Arc/Arc: A point will be created where two overlapping Arcs/Circles meet.
Edit
- Backcloth Copy: Allows the user to copy points from the CAD Backcloth.
- Edit: Users can Modify, Mirror, and Rotate points. For more information, click on the individual links.
- Attributes: Allows the user to Set, Get, and view Properties of the selected points. For more information, click on the individual links.
- List: Will allow the user to Add and Remove points from a list. For more information, click on the individual links.
