The Make option allows you to ensure that one string is parallel to another at a given offset. This is often used when surveying kerb and channel lines together. You will be expected to survey the first point on each string accurately as this pair of points will be used to calculate the parallel offset. You then need to ensure that one of the strings is accurate and the other gives an accurate reflection of the height of the other feature.
To use this option, you will be asked to indicate the two feature strings. The first feature string is the feature that will remain unchanged. The parallel offset is the plan distance from the first point on the second string projected back onto the first feature. Each point on the second feature string is then moved so that is the calculated offset away from the first feature. The heights of the second feature will remain unaltered.
