From n4ce 4.40c the ability to read and write files to Trimble Connect has been added.
To activate the Trimble Connect link please go to the Settings Tab\menu and under Cloud Storage click Enabled, and then click Service.
That will open the following window. To enable cloud storage select the appropriate Trimble Region for your account.
This will activate your current browser and take you to the Trimble Login page. After you enter your details you will see a window like that below.
As long as you reopen n4ce once every two weeks then you should not be required to re login. To log out of Trimble Connect fully, this must be done from inside Trimble Connect itself inside your browser.
Once logged in any time a File Open, Save, Import or Export is performed in n4ce, n4ce will divert to Trimble Connect via the interface below. Note you can press F5 to update this view if data is added by another user connected to the same service on another device.
If you wish to revert back to the standard Windows dialog to work on a local file, use the button in the bottom left of the window, "Switch to Local Storage".
So when a file is created in this manner, it is actually saved locally first, and then uploaded behind the scenes, so that the user can carry on and not have to wait for the upload to complete.
Double-clicking on a folder that has files of the type you are currently looking to open will display similar to the image below.
The Icon next to the file indicates its status...
- A Green tick means the file is fully uploaded.
- A Yellow triangle means there is a conflict, i.e. a file in the cloud is not identical to the local copy and you will be asked which you want to target.
- A Blue circle means the file is still syncing.
Please note that if a file sync operation is being carried out, for instance, the SDB is still being saved to the cloud, n4ce will warn the user of this and prevent itself from being closed until any and all sync issues are resolved.
