Each survey job is depicted by a yellow book under the top level Observations folder. Right clicking this folder provides access to much of the raw survey processing and adjustment functionality within n4ce. Detailed explanations of those tools specific to total station data are listed below.
- New: Creates a new Setup. This is generally only used when manually entering total station observations from a log book.
- Rename: Changes the name of the selected job.
- Reporting: Generates a detailed report of the current setup. The report can either be viewed in a window or sent straight to a file.
- Least Squares: Starts a Least Squares network adjustment using the setups in the current job. Click here for more details.
- Traverse: Starts the Traverse wizard. Click here for more details.
- GPS Link: Opens the GPS link processing engine. Used to calculate the coordinates of a series of setups that backsite and end up foresiting onto known control, but never actually setup there. Click here for more details.
- Reduction: Starts the process of converting raw total station observations into final computed coordinates. Click here for more details.
- Intersection: Enables coordinates of points to be derived from pairs of intersecting observations. Click here for more details.
- RO Review: Invokes a reporting tool that compares by how much each and every observation (to a station) compares with respect to whats known over whats measured.
- Change To: Alters all the observations so that they appear in a different format. This can be useful when trying to debug problem traverses. i.e. switch observations to Hz Distances and Vt Ht differences.
- Collect Control: Moves all control observations to the top of the observation listing for each setup.
- Create Model: Having reduced a Survey so that the raw observations have been calculated and converted into XYZ. All of the setups and their observations are combined into a single Model and added to the Models folder (under a given name) for editing and further processing.
- Import: Reads a survey log file into the project to start a new survey job.
- Append: Appends a survey log file to the same survey job that was right clicked.
- Export: Saves the raw observations to other file formats including MX .MDT and StarNet .DAT files
- Properties: Displays the survey properties dialog which provides additional information regarding the survey, and also provides a means to add user definable attributes and notes to the job.
